CANBERRA, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Two people have been hospitalized after they were shot at a home in South Australia (SA) in the early hours of Monday morning.
SA Police (SAPOL) said in a statement that emergency services were called to a home in the southern suburbs of the state capital of Adelaide following reports that two occupants had been shot around 6:40 a.m. local time on Monday.
The two people were treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being rushed to hospital.
SAPOL said that their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
"It is early in the investigation. However, the incident does not appear to be random," the statement said.
The street where the incident occurred has been closed while police officers and crime scene investigators examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. ■
