DOHA, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's Jang Woo-jin and Cho Dae-seong edged Chinese duo Huang Youzheng and Wen Ruibo in five games in the men's doubles final, while second seeds Sakura Yokoi and Satsuki Odo won an all-Japanese women's doubles final in straight games at the World Table Tennis Star Contender Doha on Saturday.

Jang and Cho, who started their Doha campaign from the qualifying round, overcame an early deficit to triumph 5-11, 11-8, 11-6, 5-11, 11-9.

On the women's side, Yokoi and Odo retained their title with a 12-10, 11-4, 11-9 victory over compatriots Hitomi Sato and Saki Shibata.

Men's and women's singles semifinalists have been confirmed, with top seeds Lin Shidong and Kuai Man, both of China, falling in the round of 16 to German veteran Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Japan's Sato, respectively.

China's Wen and Zhou Qihao made the men's singles semifinals, after eliminating teammates Xue Fei and Huang respectively, with the same score of 3-1.

"Huang and I both played well today. I took my chances better than he did to win this match," Zhou said. "As the tournament has proceeded to the semifinals, no player remaining in the draw is in bad shape. I will go all out for the win."

Wen will take Brazilian ace Hugo Calderano, while Zhou takes on Ovtcharov.

The women's singles semifinals will pit Odo against Zhu Yuling of Macao, China, and Sato against Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico.

The event will conclude on Sunday, with the mixed doubles title to be contested between South Korea's Park Gang-hyeon/Kim Na-yeong and Wong Chun Ting/Doo Hoi Kem of Hong Kong, China.
