HONG KONG, China, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan beat Italy's Lorenzo Musetti 7-6(2), 6-3 on Sunday to win the ATP 250 Hong Kong Tennis Open title at Victoria Park Tennis Stadium.
Bublik, 28, claimed his fifth title in seven months and said the win will lift him into the world's top 10 for the first time.
"I am a bit overwhelmed," Bublik said. "The temperatures went down in the second set, which slowed the balls. It was more physical, and there were more rallies. We were both a bit shaky and losing our serves, then I probably played more solidly and got more lucky."
Despite the singles loss, Musetti, ranked seventh in the world, won the doubles title later on Sunday. Partnering with Lorenzo Sonego, he beat Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachano 6-4, 2-6, 10-1 in the final. ■
