SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Residents were ordered to evacuate Saturday as a wildfire broke out in southeastern South Korea, according to Yonhap news agency.
The fire started at about 3:14 p.m. local time (0614 GMT) on a mountain in Uiseong county, some 180 km southeast of the capital Seoul.
An evacuation order was issued for nearby residents, who were instructed to take shelter at a gymnasium.
The forestry authorities mobilized helicopters and firefighting equipment to extinguish the fire. ■
