KUNMING, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Have you ever heard of "police officers" who don't talk? They don't speak, but their track records speak for themselves. Before the annual Chinese People's Police Day, which will be observed this Saturday, let's learn about the four-legged heroes, Kunming dogs.
The Kunming dog breed traces its origins to the 1950s. It is China's first and so far only police dog breed to receive international recognition for independent intellectual property rights. The breed is now widely deployed by China's public security authorities, customs, fire services, and the military, performing roles including tracking, detection, security protection, and rescue operations.
