KABUL, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have seized a cache of arms and ammunition during a recent security operation in Khost province, the provincial police office said in a statement on Thursday.
Security forces also arrested a suspect believed to be linked to the case, the statement said.
Local authorities have stepped up security operations in recent months as part of efforts to curb the illegal possession and trafficking of weapons and to strengthen public safety. ■
