SYDNEY, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- A teenager is in a critical condition after he was stabbed at a party in western Sydney on Tuesday night.
A statement released on Wednesday by the police force in the state of New South Wales (NSW) said that emergency services were deployed to an address in the suburb of Shalvey, 40 kilometers west of central Sydney, around 10:40 p.m. local time on Tuesday, following reports of a brawl.
Police officers arrived at the scene and located a 17-year-old boy with multiple stab wounds.
He was treated by ambulance paramedics before being taken to the hospital.
The police statement said that a party of around 40 people had been underway prior to the incident.
No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning, and police called for anyone with information or footage to contact investigators. ■
