HANOI, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Authorities of Vietnam's capital Hanoi have proposed suspending passenger train services running through the city's well-known railway cafe street, Vietnam News Agency reported Wednesday.
The proposal, which was submitted by the Hanoi People's Committee to the Ministry of Construction, calls for adjustments to passenger train operations on the national railway section between Hanoi Station and Gia Lam Station.
If approved, no passenger trains would operate on the stretch between Hanoi Station and Long Bien Station, which runs through densely populated inner-city neighborhoods and the popular cafe-lined area, according to the report.
Located along the railway, the railway cafe street has attracted thousands of visitors every day despite repeated bans and the installation of physical barriers, local media reported. ■
