BEIJING, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares gained in the morning session Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.14 percent to 4,069.38 points, marking its highest level since late July 2015.
The Shenzhen Component Index went up 0.81 percent to 13,940.24 points at midday, while the STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, climbed 1.05 percent to 1,713.58 points. ■
