KABUL, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan has begun implementing 17 public welfare projects worth 223.6 million afghanis (about 3.4 million U.S. dollars) in northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, local media outlet TOLOnews reported on Monday.
According to the report, the projects include the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, and other essential local facilities. The initiatives aim to improve basic infrastructure, enhance public services, and support community development across various parts of the province.
The projects are expected to address the urgent needs of local communities while creating job opportunities for residents, the report said.
Local authorities welcomed the projects, describing them as a positive example of corporate social responsibility. Such cooperation would help strengthen trust and collaboration between government institutions, the private sector, and local communities. ■
