KIEV, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Russia conducted an aerial attack on Kiev and its surrounding region early Monday, killing at least two people, said Ukrainian authorities.
One strike hit a private medical center in Kiev's Obolonskyi district, killing one person and injuring four others, with two in serious condition, said Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko in a post on social media Telegram.
Another person was killed in the Fastiv district, southwest of Kiev, where 12 houses were damaged, according to Ukraine's National Police.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched nine Iskander-M/S-300 missiles and 165 drones during the attack, and 137 drones were intercepted. ■
