HONG KONG, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted New Guinea, Papua New Guinea at 01:26:40 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 6.41 degrees south latitude and 143.69 degrees east longitude. ■
