MOSCOW, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident in Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, local authorities said on Monday.
The republic's chief state traffic safety inspector, Vladimir Sevastyanov, said three vehicles collided on the M5 Ural highway on Monday morning at the 105th kilometer, leaving four passengers dead at the scene before emergency medical services arrived.
Regional health authorities said two of the injured are in critical condition and receiving intensive care, while the third is in moderate condition.
Local law enforcement authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and verifying related details, Sevastyanov said. ■
