PARIS, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- An explosion at a laboratory in eastern France on Monday injured at least four people, two of them seriously, according to local media.
The blast occurred at an Elkem Silicones laboratory near Lyon in the Rhone department. A total of 35 firefighters and 13 vehicles were mobilized to extinguish the resulting fire, and authorities established a security perimeter with a two-kilometer radius around the site, BMF Lyon reported, adding that the explosion might have been caused by hydrogen. ■
