BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Former Bayer Leverkusen forward Lucas Alario scored twice as Estudiantes recovered from a goal down to secure Argentina's Champions Trophy on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Platense.
Franco Zapiola put Platense ahead at Ciudad de Vicente Lopez stadium by sweeping home a first-time effort after Estudiantes failed to deal with Juan Ignacio Saborido's long throw-in.
Alario equalized in the 79th minute when he nodded in from point-blank range after Edwuin Cetre's cross was headed into the six-yard box by Fabricio Perez.
Estudiantes took the lead in the first minute of stoppage time as Alario met Cetre's corner with a first-time strike at the far post.
The result marks the second time in as many years that Estudiantes has won the Champions Trophy, contested between the reigning Apertura and Clausura champions. ■
