YANGON, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 196,000 stimulant tablets in the southern Bago region, the state-owned daily The Mirror reported on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint anti-narcotics task force searched a vehicle in Padaung township of the Bago region on Dec. 18 and confiscated the stimulant tablets, the report said.
The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth 294 million kyats (about 140,000 U.S. dollars), it added.
Two suspects were arrested, and further investigations were ongoing, it said. ■
