ROME, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- A 144-hour-long arts marathon Amami Teatro 2025 is underway in the Southern Italian city of Chieti, drawing both residents and visitors into the theater.
This year's event, which started on Monday, has woven theater, music, dancing, film and workshops together into an immersive cultural experience open to the public throughout the week.
The event is hosted at the Marrucino Theater, one of the city's landmark buildings and a major cultural venue. Long associated with opera, concerts and drama, the historic theater now offers audience a more contemporary, diverse and experimental way to engage with the stage.
Artists from different countries were invited to perform at this year's festival, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and exchanges.
A group of young Chinese artists were also invited to perform at the festival, the first time for Chinese art performers to participate the event.
The festival aims to bring younger generations closer to theater arts, enabling them to encounter diverse forms of stage expressions and further expanding the boundaries of public cultural participation. ■
