CANBERRA, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Two men have been charged with murder over the fatal shooting of a third man in South Australia (SA), police said on Thursday.
A statement issued by SA Police (SAPOL) said that emergency services were called to reports that a man had been shot during an altercation with two others in the small town of McLaren Flat, 30 kilometers south of the state capital of Adelaide, shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
A 62-year-old local man was found deceased at the scene.
Two other local men, a 40-year-old and a 69-year-old, were arrested and have both been charged with murder and possessing an unregistered firearm.
SAPOL said that a firearm suspected of being used in the attack was recovered by officers.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. SAPOL said that both alleged attackers were known to the victim and there is no risk to the public. ■
