TEHRAN, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Nine people were killed on Monday due to gas poisoning after a fire erupted at an industrial workshop in Iran's central Isfahan province, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.
The fire broke out at the production line of the workshop unit located in Dowlat Abad industrial town in Borkhar County, following which rescuers, firefighters and emergency medical services personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene, Fars quoted Mansour Shishehforoush, director general of the provincial crisis management department, as saying.
He identified the victims as the workshop's workers, saying that the cause of the incident was under investigation and would be announced following the submission of expert reports. ■
