MADRID, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Oviedo sacked first-team coach Luis Carrion on Sunday after a 4-0 defeat away to Sevilla.
"The manager has left the club with immediate effect. His coaching staff has also ended their association with the club," read a statement published by Oviedo. The club is now looking for its third coach after just 16 matches of the season.
Carrion lost his job after eight league matches in charge, with Oviedo taking just four points, all from draws, and failing to score in seven of those games. Oviedo now sits second from bottom in the standings.
The team was also knocked out in the first round of the Copa del Rey after a 4-2 defeat away to third-tier Ourense.
Carrion returned for his second spell at the club in October to replace Veljko Paunovic. ■
