MACAO, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Monetary Authority of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) announced on Monday that the preliminary estimate of the Macao SAR's foreign exchange reserves at the end of November 2025 marked an increase of 1.1 percent from that at the end of October.

The figure for November stood at 240.8 billion patacas (30.05 billion U.S. dollars), while the revised figure for the previous month was 238.0 billion patacas (29.74 billion U.S. dollars), the authority said.

Data also showed that the trade-weighted effective exchange rate index of the Macao pataca rose by 0.47 points month on month to 101.9 in November, but fell by 3.66 points year on year. This indicated that, according to the authority, the Macao pataca strengthened against the currencies of Macao's major trading partners on a monthly basis, while weakening on an annual basis.
