UNITED NATIONS, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Security Council on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution on youth, peace and security.
Resolution 2807 called on all relevant actors to consider ways to increase the participation and leadership of the youth in peace processes, conflict prevention, peacebuilding, recovery and reconstruction.
It encouraged UN member states to consider adoption or strengthening of national action plans on youth, peace and security, and to support youth-led peacebuilding initiatives.
The resolution also decided to continue the consideration of the youth, peace and security agenda in the work of the Security Council, and encouraged Security Council members to consider holding expert-level discussions on youth, peace and security. ■
