RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Substitute Pablo Vegetti scored in the 94th minute as Vasco da Gama secured a 2-1 victory over Fluminense in the first leg of their Copa do Brasil semifinal on Thursday.
Colombian forward Kevin Serna gave Fluminense the lead with a 22nd-minute strike after Thiago Silva's headed pass.
Teenage attacker Rayan equalized just after halftime by rifling home from the edge of the six-yard box after Fluminense failed to deal with an Andres Gomez cross.
Argentine striker Vegetti, a 77th-minute replacement for Nuno Moreira, completed the turnaround when he met Gomez's cross with a downward header at the far post.
The return leg will be played at the Maracana Stadium on Sunday, with the winner to face either Corinthians or Cruzeiro in the final. ■
