SINGAPORE, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Participants from both sides of the bilateral training exercise between the Chinese and Singaporean militaries have been conducting mixed-unit joint drills focused on close-quarters battle (CQB).
CQB tactics, designed for confined environments such as buildings and narrow alleys, emphasize stealth, coordination, speed and precision.
Chinese soldier Dou Shuichao said troops must understand potential threats from different angles indoors, provide mutual cover, and know alert positions and methods in order to seize the right moment for entry and achieve mission objectives.
During the training, soldiers reviewed shortcomings identified during the drills and gradually optimized force allocation and operational command, improving overall training effectiveness.
Participants said the joint drills helped them acquire practical combat skills and learn to coordinate seamlessly in urgent situations.
The exercise, which began on Wednesday, focuses on urban counter-terrorism operations and will continue until Dec. 18. ■
