KABUL, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced on Wednesday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Norwegian international aid organization to assist refugees and internally displaced families.
Under the agreement, more than 310,000 U.S. dollars will be allocated to support 2,231 individuals in the northern province of Faryab, according to a ministry statement. The funding will focus on delivering health services and other essential social support.
In a separate development, the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority has inked an agreement valued at 462,000 dollars with a domestic aid agency on Wednesday. The initiative aims to raise awareness on disaster risk management among residents of the eastern province of Paktika. ■
