BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Qizhala, previously a Chinese official, is being prosecuted over bribery charges, the country's top procuratorate said on Wednesday.
Qizhala is accused of having abused his various positions, including head of the government of Xizang Autonomous Region in southwest China, by seeking profits for others and accepting bribes, which involved money and valuables in "a huge amount."
Qizhala served as a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, which is the country's top political advisory body, before the disciplinary probe was initiated. He was expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office in July this year. ■
