KABUL, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- For the first time, around 500 traditional and handcrafted glass pieces from western Afghanistan's Herat province have been exported to the United States and several European countries, marking a milestone for the city's artisanal industry, the local media Tolo news reported on Tuesday.
The glassware, known for its vibrant colors, high quality, and intricate hand-painted designs, has attracted international buyers, showcasing the rich heritage and craftsmanship of Herat's artisans, the report said.
The success of this export highlights Afghanistan's potential in cultural and creative industries, offering new opportunities for local artisans to reach international buyers. ■
