BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- China's national observatory forecast on Saturday that multiple rounds of cold air are expected to sweep across the country in the coming week, bringing temperature drops and strong winds.
From Sunday to Monday, temperatures in most northern regions are forecast to fall by 4-6 degrees Celsius, with some areas likely to see temperature drops of up to 8 degrees Celsius, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).
The NMC noted that between Dec. 10 and 13, under the influence of a strong cold front, most parts of China will experience sharper temperature declines of 6-10 degrees Celsius. In some regions in north China, temperatures could plummet by as much as 14 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, heavy rain or rainstorms are expected in parts of Guangxi, Guangdong and Hunan, while certain regions in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia may see heavy snow or blizzards, the NMC said. ■
