BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE) conducted a roadshow on the accounting profession to promote career opportunities and support the development of future talent for the nation's financial sector and professional accounting services industry.
The session, held in collaboration with the Brunei Institute of Certified Public Accountants, targeted pre-university students, providing early exposure to the accounting field and encouraging them to plan their academic pathways toward an accounting career, according to a press release issued by MOFE on Monday.
Acting Director of the Revenue Division at MOFE, Haji Mohammad Hassenol Abdul Rahman, underscored the significance of the accounting profession, noting a shortage of qualified accountants and auditors despite increasing demand from local companies.
He said accountants play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial records, preventing financial leakages, and supporting strong financial governance. ■
