SYDNEY, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Australia's 2025 beef production is set to break new ground with record volumes, supported by strong export demand from the United States and China, an industry report said Monday.
The RaboResearch division of Rabobank, an agribusiness financial service provider, estimates that 2025 Australian beef production will be approximately 2.9 million metric tons, up 11 percent from 2024, setting a new record.
Beef exports have also increased, up 15 percent for the first 10 months of 2025 to 1.3 million metric tons shipped weight, according to Rabobank's Q4 2025 Global Beef Quarterly.
The United States remains the largest market, accounting for 29 percent of Australian beef exports, said the report's lead author, RaboResearch senior animal proteins analyst Angus Gidley-Baird.
Volumes to China have climbed 44 percent for the first 10 months of 2025, boosted by a 58 percent jump in grainfed beef exports to China, Gidley-Baird said.
The analyst said seasonal conditions are the key current driver of the Australian cattle market.
"With a relatively balanced cattle market, Australia's cattle prices are heavily contingent on seasonal conditions and producer sentiment," he said. ■
