ZAGREB, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Croatia's economy continued its growth streak for the 19th consecutive quarter, though its gross domestic product (GDP) expanded at a slower pace of 2.3 percent in the third quarter compared with the same period last year, the Croatian State Bureau of Statistics said Thursday.

Croatia's GDP growth eased notably from the second quarter, when the economy expanded by 3.6 percent. Nevertheless, the bureau stressed that the country continues to show a solid and uninterrupted growth trend.

According to the statement, third-quarter growth was mainly supported by rising investments, exports, and both personal and government consumption.

"This is an expected mild slowing in growth when compared to the same quarter in the previous year. However, this is the 19th consecutive quarter in which we are seeing a positive trend in GDP growth," Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said during a government session on Thursday.

He added that Croatia is among only five European Union member states to have recorded continuous GDP growth since early 2021, alongside Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania.

Meanwhile, according to Eurostat forecasts, Croatia's GDP is expected to grow by 3.2 percent this year, down from 3.8 percent in 2024.
