KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The majority of Malaysians believe that the ASEAN Summit 2025 will bring tangible benefits to the nation, according to a survey from the UCSI Poll Research Center.

The research center said in a statement on Thursday that younger Malaysians aged between 18 and 34 are the most positive, with 66 percent believing that the summit will result in favorable trade agreements and better job opportunities.

The survey also showed that 61 percent viewed the summit positively and exactly 50 percent believed that the decisions made at the summit would impact them.

However, only 38 percent believed that ASEAN economic cooperation would reduce the daily cost of living.

On ASEAN's priorities, 44 percent listed the reduction in cost of living in the region as their top concern, followed closely by job creation at 41 percent.

A coordinated effort to combat scams and crime was chosen by 9 percent while climate change and environmental issues lagged at 1 percent.

Malaysia recently hosted the 47th ASEAN Summit and its related meetings.
