TALLINN, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- A passenger train collided with a cargo truck on Thursday at a railroad crossing in Harju County, northern Estonia, causing the death of the truck driver, the Police and Border Guard Board reported.
The collision also led to the derailment of the train, with one train passenger sustaining minor injuries.
According to the authority, the cargo truck drove onto the crossing in front of the train, which departed Tallinn's Baltic Station in the morning as scheduled, disrupting rail traffic. The cargo truck suffered severe damage, and the driver died at the scene.
The Emergency Response Center responded to the incident following a call and found 20 people on board the train. The remaining passengers were evacuated from the train and examined by medical personnel. Alternative transportation was also arranged for them. ■
