ISLAMABAD, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Three policemen were killed in a terrorist attack on a check post in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, local authorities said.
The attackers opened fire from a nearby hill on the check post in Hangu district, district police officer Khan Zaib told local media. He said three personnel were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.
A heavy police contingent was deployed to the area, and a search operation was underway, he added.
