ISLAMABAD, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- A wanted terrorist was killed in an exchange of fire in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, police said.
The militant opened fire when police reached his hideout during a special operation, prompting return fire that killed him on the spot, according to police.
The slain militant was a close associate of a local terrorist commander and wanted in cases including the kidnapping of a government official and the killing of a policeman.
Weapons were recovered, and a search operation was launched amid concerns about other militants in the area, police added. ■
