PHNOM PENH, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia will send 150 athletes, coaches and sports officials to the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, down from the earlier plan of 333, said a National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) news release on Thursday.
The news release said the number of sports that the country will take part has also been deducted from 21 to 13.
In a letter to the Southeast Asian Games Federation on Wednesday, NOCC's secretary-general Vath Chamroeun said, "This adjustment has been made due to significant security concerns."
Chamroeun said the 13 sports that Cambodia will compete are swimming, track and field, E-sports, fencing, gymnastics, Ju-Jitsu, kickboxing, Taekwondo, equestrian, Jetski, triathlon, Teqball, and volleyball.
The 33rd SEA Games will be held in Thailand from December 9 to 20. ■
