MINSK, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Wednesday proposed hosting peace talks on Ukraine here during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the state-run BELTA news agency reported.
Lukashenko reiterated Belarus' readiness to facilitate renewed negotiations, saying Minsk remains available to serve as a venue for talks.
He also responded to criticism of Belarus' position, stressing that the country maintains channels of dialogue with Western nations and the United States.
Putin, in turn, acknowledged Belarus' role and Lukashenko's personal contributions to efforts aimed at resolving the conflict. ■
