BISHKEK, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has decided to raise its key interest rate from 10 percent to 11 percent, effective from Tuesday.

According to a statement published on the bank's website, since the beginning of 2025, inflation in Kyrgyzstan has reached 7.3 percent, and 8.9 percent in annual terms.

In the first ten months of this year, real gross domestic product grew by 10 percent, supported by robust consumer demand and rising investment activity.

The current monetary policy conditions are aimed at returning inflation to the medium-term target of 5-7 percent, the bank said.

Volatile regional energy prices and rising food prices, along with inflationary pressures among Kyrgyzstan's main trading partners, continue to affect the country's imports. Meanwhile, domestic inflationary factors remain relatively moderate. Under these conditions, the bank decided to raise the key rate, it said.
