YANGON, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 356,400 stimulant tablets and 2.97 kg of heroin in northern Myanmar's Kachin state, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) reported on Monday.
Acting on a tipoff, anti-narcotics police raided a suspect's house in Mogaung town of Kachin state on Nov. 20 and confiscated the drugs along with the suspect, the committee said.
The seized drugs are estimated to be worth over 600 million kyats (about 0.29 million U.S. dollars), it said.
The suspect has been charged under Myanmar's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations are underway, the CCDAC said. ■
