GAZA/RAMALLAH, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Ten Palestinians were killed on Saturday in an Israeli drone strike west of Gaza City, according to Palestinian sources.
The strike, targeting a civilian vehicle near the Abbas Junction in the Rimal neighborhood, also injured several passersby and set the car on fire, eyewitnesses and medical sources told Xinhua.
Israeli media reported that the strike targeted Alaa al-Hadidi, head of operations for Hamas's weapons sector.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said Israeli forces have advanced the "Yellow Line" by tens of meters in the past two days, coinciding with Israeli detonation of car bombs and artillery shelling.
The ceasefire reached between Israel and Hamas, which took effect on Oct. 10, has sharply reduced Israeli attacks but not halted them entirely. At least 318 Palestinians have been killed and 788 injured by Israeli attacks since Oct. 11, Gaza's health authorities said Saturday, bringing the overall death toll from Israeli attacks since October 2023 to 69,733, with 170,863 others injured.
In a separate development, amid a recent escalation in settler attacks in the West Bank, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry on Saturday condemned the attacks as part of a "systematic policy of terrorizing its citizens and forcibly displacing them," urging in a statement the formation of an international protection and peacekeeping force. ■
