KABUL, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and four others sustained injuries when a vehicle veered off the road and overturned in northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, the provincial department of information and culture said in a statement.
The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Yawan district when a vehicle belonging to a goldsmith company collided with a mobile clinic, killing two workers on the spot and injuring four others, according to the statement.
The crash was attributed to reckless driving, said the statement, adding that the injured have been shifted to a nearby health center.
In a separate incident on Monday, a female doctor and another person were killed and eight others were injured in a road accident in eastern Nangarhar province.
Reckless driving, poorly maintained roads and inadequate safety measures continue to contribute to frequent fatal traffic accidents across Afghanistan. ■
