JAKARTA, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's central bank has decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 4.75 percent, the bank's governor Perry Warjiyo said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Following its board of governors meeting held on Tuesday and Wednesday, Bank Indonesia also maintained the interest rates on its lending and deposit facilities at 5.5 percent and 3.75 percent, respectively.
Warjiyo said the decision is consistent with the inflation outlook for 2025 and 2026, which is expected to remain low within the target range of 2.5 percent, plus or minus one percentage point.
He added that the policy stance also aims to safeguard the stability of the local currency rupiah, in line with economic fundamentals amid persistent global uncertainty, while supporting measures to reinforce economic growth. ■
