YANGON, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar kicked off the 60th Myanmar Gems Emporium at the Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday, the state-owned daily The Mirror reported on Tuesday.
Myanmar's Acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the opening event, the report said.
During the event, 5,064 lots of uncut jade, 21 lots of finished jade, 13 lots of uncut gemstones, 147 lots of jewelry, and 489 lots of pearls were put on sale for local and foreign merchants through the open tender system, it added.
The emporium, organized by the Myanmar Gems Emporium Central Committee, will run until Nov. 26, the report added. ■
