ALMATY, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Twelve people, including nine children, died in a house fire in the Turkestan region, southern Kazakhstan, the Kazinform news agency reported Tuesday, citing the regional Department of Emergency Situations.
The blaze broke out in a two-story private residential house in the village of Algabas in the Zhetysai district and was fully extinguished by firefighters.
According to rescuers, three unconscious people were evacuated from the house and remain in intensive care. Twelve bodies, including those of nine children, were found inside the residence.
Meanwhile, a government commission has been established to investigate the incident. ■
