RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- Flamengo struck four goals in 20 second-half minutes, recovering from a goal down to rout nine-man Sport Recife 5-1 in Brazil's Serie A on Saturday.
Pablo Teixeira gave the hosts the lead with a low strike, but the momentum swung after Matheus Alexandre and Ramon Menezes were dismissed late in the first half.
Luiz Araujo equalized for the visitors on the stroke of halftime before Juninho, Bruno Henrique, Ayrton Lucas and Douglas Telles added second-half goals.
Flamengo is now three points clear of Palmeiras at the top of Brazil's top-flight standings with 71 points from 33 games.
Sport remains last with two wins from 33 games and is now assured of relegation to Serie B next year. ■
