India's forex reserves dip further to 687 bln USD

NEW DELHI, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves dipped by 2.70 billion U.S. dollars to 687.03 billion dollars during the week ended Nov. 7, showed the weekly bulletin released by the country's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday.

This was the third consecutive week when India's forex reserves had fallen. During the preceding week, they had declined by 5.62 billion dollars.

According to the RBI data, the Foreign Currency Assets, a key aspect of forex reserves, fell by 2.45 billion dollars to 562.14 billion dollars, while the Gold Reserves declined by 195 million dollars to 101.53 billion dollars.

The Special Drawing Rights also dipped by 51 million dollars to 18.59 billion dollars, even as the country's Reserve position at the International Monetary Fund remained static at 4.77 billion dollars.
