NEW DELHI, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- At least 10 persons died and several others were injured when a speeding truck hit multiple vehicles in India's western state of Rajasthan, confirmed the local police on Monday.
A few among the injured were said to be in a critical condition, undergoing treatment at a local government-run hospital.
The accident occurred on the Lohamandi Road in the state's capital city of Jaipur. The truck driver was reportedly drunk, and went on a rampage for several kilometers hitting vehicles. Eventually the truck overturned, and the police arrested the driver, said an online media report.
Jaipur Commissioner of Police Sachin Mittal was quoted as saying that 10 human deaths had been reported. "We are currently collecting details of the injured," he added. ■
