KABUL, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have arrested a man accused of attempting to kidnap a child in Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital of the southern Helmand province, Provincial Police Spokesman Mullah Ezatullah Haqani said on Monday.
The suspect, according to the official, was attempting to kidnap a child in Lashkar Gah city on Sunday, but police captured him red-handed and he is being investigated. However, the official did not provide more details.
Although security is much better than in past years in the post-war and impoverished Afghanistan, some outlaws abduct members of well-off families for ransom. ■
