PARIS, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- A laboratory specializing in the processing of precious metals in Lyon, southeastern France, was attacked on Thursday afternoon during an armed robbery, French media reported.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion as assailants allegedly blew up security windows before loading their loot into a van and fleeing the scene.
The attack reportedly began around 1:30 p.m. local time, prompting a large police deployment. Five employees suffered minor injuries and were treated by firefighters, authorities said.
Police later arrested five suspects "along with their loot" and placed them in custody as investigators seek to determine the sequence of events and the type of explosives used. ■
