TOKYO, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Seventeen trucks burned early Wednesday at a transport company in Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan, local media reported.
An emergency call was made at around 3:05 a.m. local time about the fire in a parking lot and a warehouse at the transport company, but there were no reported injuries, Kyodo News said, citing local authorities.
The fire, which is believed to have started in one of the trucks, was extinguished nearly four hours later, according to the police.
Officials conducted an on-site investigation, checking the burnt vehicles and taking photos from above using a ladder truck, the report said.
An employee of the company said that a fuel tank lid had been removed from a burned truck and a fueling system hose had been cut.
The police and firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire, considering the possibility of arson, the report said. ■
